Axicon grating
These gratings have a binary set of concentric, evenly spaced, bright chrome on glass circles with 50 line pair/mm period to give a diffraction angle of about 1.82° with 635 nm light.
The grating is on a 5 mm thick polished Borofloat substrate. When used as a return mirror in a double pass test setup the Axicon grating defines 4 degrees of freedom, 2 translation and 2 angles simultaneously.
More information about the use of Axicon gratings is in the recent paper published in the Technical library: “Practical considerations for using grating produced Bessel beams for alignment”.
